From the Mississippi River, our scenic bluffs provide a spectacular backdrop as seen from a kayak or canoe coming across our pristine backwaters. The challenge is to momentarily stop paddling, take it all in, before you lose yourself yet again in the heightened efforts of physical activity that can’t be replicated anywhere. And yet you remain a few strokes away from the city.
There are several paddle groups throughout the region:
Driftless Paddlers– an informal group of paddlers out of the Virquoa area. Contact Henry Deutsch (firstname.lastname@example.org) for paddle times and locations
Warrens Yak Club– An informal group of people who enjoys the outdoors. Primary actiivity is kayaking on the numerous reservoirs in the Warrens, WI area. Have also gathered for some snowshoeing in the winter! Find them on FACEBOOK!
Coulee Canoe and Kayak Club– meets weekly to paddle on the La Crosse, Missisippi, Black, and Trempleau Rivers. Visist their websiteto see paddle times and locations.
